From October 1-15, 2025, Women of Fisheries collected donations to help support members with current financial difficulties.  A HUGE thank you to our members for the generous donations during the “Fish Sisters Unite Campaign.” We received a total of $788 from our donors and Women of Fisheries matched the first $500 in donations for a total of $1,288!

ALL money raised will go directly to women in fisheries science — our “fish sisters” — in the form of individual grants of $50 each (paid via PayPal). If you are facing financial hardships due to a change in employment status or for other personal reasons, please fill out the following form to be considered for assistance. Decisions will be made on merit and order of requests received. You must be an approved member of the Women of Fisheries private Facebook group (join here) to be eligible. Your privacy in applying for these grants will be preserved. We will be distributing funds as we receive applications until the money runs out.
